Dr. Helgeson is a classroom teacher in the Seattle area. He has taught at the middle school level for over 15 years. Throughout his teaching, he has designed, developed, and researched ways to get students out of their seats and moving around the classroom. Students who are actively engaged physically and mentally are better equipped to being successful in the classroom behaviorally and academically. Teaching Through Movement is a blog meant to help educators with ideas and the philosophies behind the ideas regarding using physical activity in the classroom.
